ORIS Normalizer™ is a cost-effective workflow for publishers to send print-ready files to any printing company, regardless of the printer’s RIP requirements. Supports both composite and separated file
formats (PDF, PDF/X, Postscript, DCS) and creates normalized high-resolution files. The software comprises predefined hot folders for all major prepress tasks, including:
- Conversion to all common prepress data
- Moving files or duplicating them to multiple folders
- Automatic load balancing
- Processing start at a particular time (timer function)
- File transfer (FTP)
- Automatic e-mailing

The complexity of digital file formats is a major source of inefficiency for printers, service providers and print buyers. Both digital presses and CTP systems use a confusing array of PostScript and PDF RIPs, which do not always handle every format. Some systems prefer one file format over another, and older, outdated RIPs can create havoc for those who simply want their job printed! For all of these issues, ORIS Normalizer is the answer. Whether used in connection with Press Matcher or Ink Saver, or as a standalone process, Normalizer automates the file conversion process, saving on operational costs and greatly reducing output errors and related billing disputes.
ORIS Normalizer uses network-shared hotfolders to process digital files, in all major prepress formats. Color management may be applied, using Press Matcher or Ink Saver, and new files are generated in the desired format and automatically sent to the desired printing facility. Both composite and separated file output is supported. Normalizer can create industry-standard formats, such as DCS, PDF/X and TIFF/IT, as well as proprietary Scitex formats. Older RIPs are also supported, with ORIS’ ability to create flat PostScript and PDF. Automatic preflight is included, as well as automatic FTP, and easy integration with third-party file transfer and job ticketing systems. As with other ORIS Color Tuner PLUS! workflows, remote, contract quality proofs may also be sent along with the high-resolution files.
